About Us

Leadership. Rend Your Heart dot Com is the official website representing a specific ministry focus of a group of believers from the Fort Smith, Arkansas river valley region.  These co-laborers in Christ span several congregations, denominations, and cities.  We are pastors, worship leaders, college students, school teachers, executives, and, most importantly, empassioned lovers of Jesus who have been called to the place of prayer - both individually and together as the Body of Christ.  We meet together in our own congregations and homes each and every week.  From April until October 2009, we met in our very own prayer room located at 681 N 20th St in Van Buren, Arkansas.  However, we are currently in a season of having prayer, worship, and training meetings “from house to house”.

Unity. Every Saturday we gather together in the type of unity Jesus prayed for in John 17:20-26.  When we gather, we utilize some structures that the Lord inspired through Scripture to help us remain “decent and in order”.  The worship team, prayer leaders, and anyone in the room come up to mix prayers, spontaneous worship, and pre-written (”corporate”) worship in a format often refered to as “Harp & Bowl” these days (drawing from the imagery in Revelations 5).  This article includes a written description and audio sample of one of our typical “intercessory worship” gatherings: “Example of Intercessory Worship”.

Foundation. Intercessors (the people praying) are highly encouraged to “pray the Scriptures”, as opposed to just praying whatever comes to mind.  We use the prayers found throughout the Bible as our primary launching point. Many of these prayers were documented in the Bible as prayers from Jesus and the apostles, and are therefore often refered to as “The Apostolic Prayers”.  Here is a link which talks about those prayers in more detail, and provides a link to download one collection of them.

Reason. The Bible makes it clear that all believers are called to prayer, both individually and together as the children of God, and as watchmen on the walls of our nation(s) and congregation(s).  We know that we, the Church, need to be empowered by the Holy Spirit to be effective in ministry, and so we respond in the same manner prescribed by Jesus for His disciples… in the same manner the prophets Isaiah, Ezekiel, and Joel called all of the God’s children… in the manner in which Paul exhorts new testament believers.  We gather ourselves together, we fast, we wait (actively & attentively), and we pray.  Yes, we do continue to serve those in need, feed the hungry, clothe the poor, and minister to the pre-believer and believer alike, but we long to do so out of a greater place of intimacy with the Lord, and in the most effective way possible: having been clothed in the Spirit and in Power.

Promise. There are countless Scriptures that lay the foundations on which we stand, knowing that our prayers are not in vain.  Galatians 6:7-10, Luke 18, Luke 11, Mark 11, John 11, John 14, 15, & 16 are only a few.  We are responding to the call to “sow in the Spirit” so to “reap in the Spirit”.  We are responding to the call of Ezekiel, Isaiah, and Joel to “stand in the gap for the land God has placed us in”.  And just like King David and the tabernacle he constructed around the Ark of the Covenant, we understand that the Lord does choose to work-in and bless specific geographically regions, and that He uses prayer & worship as the currency by which we can barter with Him for these blessings.

Resources. Be sure to check out the Articles section of our website.  This is our “blog” where some of our leadership will share teachings, post special invitations, and keep all of us up-to-date on special gatherings and happenings.

Donations. As of January 2010, the Jacksons felt compelled by the Lord to ask their local home church to process the donations for this regional prayer ministry for them - both love gifts, support, and honorariums intended specifically for the Jacksons, and also for any ministry expenses that arise. If you would like to make a tax deductible donation, please make your check payable to “Heritage” and place “Rend Your Heart” in the memo line.  All funds received with this designation in the memo line will be used specifically to support this prayer ministry.

If you would like to give on line, you may visit www.likedaviddid.com/partnering/. (These donations are still being processed through our own tax entity “Like David Did”, until on-line giving can be arranged through Heritage Church).
